「原宿 ドッグ」は1987年に業務用、89年に家庭用の冷凍食品として発売。 当時は 原宿 で撮影したテレビCMも流していましたが、現在「原宿 ドッグ」の名で売られているのは業務用だけだそうです。 「あぁもう、自宅であの味を楽しめないのか」と落ちこんでいると、なんと家庭用の「チーズワッフル」という商品が、基本的に同じものだと教えてくれました。 名前が違うのには理由があります。 家庭用「原宿 ドッグ」は終売後、2000年に再発売を検討。 そのとき、ブームだった「ベルギーワッフル」と生地の表面が似ていたことから、より一般的な名称として「チーズワッフル」とネーミングされました。 なお「原宿 ドッグ」は基本的に業務用ですが、生協（生活協同組合、コープ）などでは5本パックで売っていることもあるそうです。
